Introduction to GPU computing with the Artemis HPC

Sydney Informatics Hub Research Computing Training Series Introduction to GPU computing with the Artemis HPC Note: Own laptop required with a terminal client. Synopsis: The University of Sydney's Artemis HPC hosts several NVIDIA V100 GPUs. This course will help you to understand basic concepts of GPU computing.  We will learn fundamentals of basic CUDA code, and write and run examples using C/CUDA, Matlab, and Python. You will undertake practical applications in Deep Learning using Python, Tensorflow, and Keras. You will learn how to set up suitable environemnts on Artemis for GPU-enabled applications to run, and how to run and submit jobs on the Artemis HPC GPU queue. You will learn about the  possibilities of containerisation using Docker and Singularity for deployment to the cloud and any system. We will have around 3 hours of formal work, but will have time to hack around with any specific problems you have. Target audience: Students and staff who are looking to push their work with GPUs, and wish to run their codes on Artemis. Essential pre-requisites: A basic understanding of Unix, or some coding/programming experience (e.g. Python, C, etc) will be very useful, however this will be very much an 'introduction' course. Please join one of our other courses to feel prepared. OWN LAPTOP REQUIRED (with an NVIDIA cuda-capable GPU if you have one). We have a few spare, please get in touch early if you wish to borrow one for the day.   Course Notes and Additional Courses: For more information: Email Sign up for email alerts about training:
