The Masterclass workshop series: Wendy Sharpe BOOKED OUT

Advance your practice with an acclaimed artist

      Still life

Known for her bold, figurative and narrative style paintings involving a sensuous use of paint, Wendy Sharpe’s work is constructed from drawings of her direct experiences and an intuitive imagination. Sharpe won the Archibald Prize in 1996 and the Sulman Prize in 1986 and has been a finalist in the Archibald and Sulman Prizes multiple times.

Join Wendy in this masterclass workshop focusing on still life where she will arrange personal objects from her home into a still life arrangement, creating the subject matter for the day. Wendy will spend time demonstrating her own methods of painting, her ideas on composition, how to approach the subject, lighting and shadows, colour mixing and paint application. Under Wendy’s guidance the class will work on their own still life, with opportunity throughout the day for one-on-one discussion and assistance.

The Masterclass workshop series provides an exciting opportunity to learn about the creative practices of past winners and finalists from the prestigious Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes. Designed for the more experienced artist, these workshops will enable you to further develop your skills and experiment with practices under the expertise of these highly regarded artists.

Morning tea provided. Bring your own lunch or purchase at the Gallery.
